In her current Still Life on Wood series, Anna captures the calm atmosphere and warmth experienced in her surroundings while celebrating the classical genre of still life. It is an atmosphere that speaks close to her heart, as it ties together natural materials and direct influences from Scandinavian interiors, ceramics as well as Japanese architecture, where the sense of calm is so generously present.

The unique oil painting technique allows to perceive the materiality and texture of plywood. The wooden texture dissolves into the space and the objects, becoming the material that holds the atmosphere. This painting process requires the artist to be completely present in the layering of paint and making immediate marks, which seep into the wood.
